I just love short, captivating and long-impacting books such as Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist. I read this book within 24 hours and feel like I will be reading it again soon.
I likened the moral of this story to the learnings I gained from The Little Prince. The themes are high level and I think the reader will need some notion of self-awareness and optimism to grasp what The Alchemist offers to the reader.
'When you really want something, the whole universe conspires in helping you achieve it.' I am a big believer of manifestation, from little goals to larger ones, I hold a lot of faith and belief in it. I found that manifestation, faith and awareness are recurring themes throughout the story and loved the message that in order to pursue ones dreams we should follow our hearts desires.
I also enjoyed the emphasis on the journey rather than a focus on the destination. The entire novel goes through the journey of the protagonist and his efforts on reaching his destination and cleverly ends once he has reached his journey.
Sometimes we put our dreams on hold because 'life' gets in the way, but isn't our life meant to be about pursuing one's Personal Legend and finding our treasure which feeds our heart and soul? Although not everyone will be able to relate to the story in the novel, I recommend reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho to help you see within yourself that you yourself are in charge of fulfilling your hopes and dreams and that you have everything within you to do so.
